The beautiful love story comes to life courtesy of Hilary Maiberger as Belle and Darick Pead as the Beast. The production will also feature all the regular supporting characters, including Mrs. Potts, Cogsworth and Lumiere. This world-class production brings with it magnificent scenery, inspiring choreography, exquisite music and extravagant costumes that come together in a musical spectacle not to be missed.

Jointly produced by Disney Theatrical Productions, NETworks and Broadway Entertainment Group, with Garuda Indonesia as the official airline sponsor, the show’s 20th anniversary has seen the original Broadway creative team reunite to bring the musical back to life for an international audience. This latest version is directed by Rob Roth and choreographed by Matt West, with costume design by Ann Hould-Ward, winner of a Tony Award® for her work on the 1994 original.

The Venetian Macao is bringing Disney’s Beauty and the Beast to Macao for a limited run. The English-language production will play at The Venetian Theatre June 13-July 26 as part its international tour. Tickets are on sale now at Cotai Ticketing box offices.

Based on an 18th-century French fairy tale, Disney’s animated version of the story became the first animated film to win a Best Picture Oscar in 1991. In 1994, the show premiered on Broadway, where it was nominated for nine prestigious Tony Awards and ran for 13 years. Since licensing of the title began in 2004, there have been 28,000 productions in eight languages across 22 countries that have been seen by more than 35 million people.

“Beauty and the Beast” tells the story of Belle, a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast, who is really a young prince trapped by a spell placed on him by an enchantress. If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will be broken and he will be transformed back into his former self.

Bringing Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” to Macao is another example of Sands China’s multi-tiered entertainment strategy, which aims to further strengthen Macao’s profile as a world centre of tourism and leisure.
